Frames on Conservation, Germany
At Weißekreuzpl.
In partnership with 20proKuadrat, Frames on Conservation engages residents in creating a greater awareness of protecting nature. Four members of Collective 22 are globally active photographers who work together to develop projects about the relationship between people, nature, and culture. With their narratives, they want to create new, accessible ways of telling stories.
The selected projects were photographed in the following locations: Magdalena Bay, Mexico · Baja California, Mexico · La Paz, Mexico · Bad Harzburg Germany · Ilsenburg Germany · Mikkelsen Harbour, Antarctica · Base Brown, Antarctica · Mocagua, Colombia · Vista Alegre, Peru.
20proKuadrat is an independent, local initiative that brings the art gallery concept into public spaces as part of the redesign of the Weißekreuzplatz square near the Hannover train station. To meet the idea of sustainability, all photo banners will be processed into bags by Maesh GmbH and sold to supporters afterward.
Collective 22
is formed by an international group of women photographers building transnational environmental projects about the relationship between humans, nature, and culture.
In 2021, we met during a six-month International Environmental Photography Lab hosted by Native Agency. After the program ended, we continued to organize monthly meetings to build a global narrative about our relationship with nature and the urgent need to protect our planet.
