Céline Haeberly is a Chinese-adopted photographer raised by American-Italian and Swiss professors living in Orange County, California. She grew up in woodsy, rural Connecticut, was educated in New York City and Paris, and taught English in Thailand. Céline’s practice and imagery reflect her diverse curiosities, international background, and layered experiences of changing environments. Her recent work studies themes of connectivity, identity, and people’s relationship with nature.
Céline’s pursuit of meaningful work and passion for conservation storytelling inspired collaborative, long-term work with scientists researching endangered coastal species such as the California Least Tern. She photographs the bird-to-human relationship and uses her images in art-focused projects to explore the human side of conservation, which have been exhibited internationally.
In 2025, Céline was selected by the woman who coined the term “conservation photography,” Cristina Mittermeier, for the Dos Mares Gala and Photography Auction and FOMARES League of Conservation Photographers. In her past life, she was the lead staff photographer for ASICS Digital and Global Marketing and is represented commercially by ArtWorks Creatives. Céline received her B.A. in Sociology and French from Barnard College of Columbia University and speaks English, French, and ~Spanish.

Céline’s Code of Ethics:
As a commercial on model and still life photographer, I primarily work with brands in the sports, outdoor, and health and wellness space. All final images are retouched and staged.
As a conservation photographer, all of my photographs depict wildlife in the wild unless otherwise specified. When photographing, I do my best to minimize disturbance as the well-being of the species is top priority. I do not add elements, alter, or manipulate the wildlife in these images.
