On July 25th, Annual Least Tern Day (“El Día Municipal del Charrán Mínimo”) is organized in collaboration with Pro Esteros, Caracol Museo de Ciencias, Pronatura Noroeste, the Department of Urban Administration, Ecology, and the Environment, Casa de la Cultura, and Mtra. Raquel Manríquez.
The main objective of this event is to raise community awareness about the importance of conserving the Endangered Least Tern, which nests every year in the Punta Banda Estuary, and is a vital species for the local ecosystem.
