Céline Haeberly is a Chinese-adopted photographer raised by American-Italian and Swiss professors. She currently lives in Orange County, California.

Céline grew up in the quiet woods of Connecticut and studied in Washington, D.C., New York City, and Paris. After living abroad in Thailand, she returned to the United States and relocated to the West Coast. Moving between these distinct landscapes and cultures has shaped her way of seeing and continues to inform her creative approaches. These “threshold movements,” and the feeling of always being “in between,” have translated into an interdisciplinary, research-based practice that explores the shifting relationship between humans and the natural world in an era of ecological collapse.

Her conservation work developed through a collaborative, long-term project with scientists researching an endangered migratory seabird in the United States and Mexico. She uses photography in art-focused conservation projects to explore the human side of conservation and was selected by Cristina “Mitty” Mittermeier for the FOMARES League of Conservation Photographers. Previously, she was the founding in-house photographer for ASICS Digital & Global Marketing’s Content Department. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and French from Barnard College of Columbia University.
