The Kiliwa are an indigenous tribe living in Baja California, approximately one hour from Ensenada, Mexico. Only 3 native speakers of the Kiliwa language remain. In the fall of 2023, a historian introduced me to their community and the neighboring Pa Ipay tribe.

The title of this ongoing project “Pai-bo” (Kiliwa) means adelante (Spanish), go forth (English).
